Devon

In October 2004 I went for a few days holiday with my Daddy to Devon. We had a good look around Raglan Castle on the way down and went to the pier at Weston-Super-Mare where I had a go on the dodgems and a racing car game and got very sticky eating candy floss.

The next day we went to Bickleigh and the Devon Railway Centre, which kept me entertained for hours. Afterwards we had a lovely pub meal on the way back to our cottage. On our way home the following day we stopped in the Cotswolds at Bourton-on-the-Water, where they had a fantastic model railway exhibition. Continue reading

The Lake District

In October 2003 I went for a long weekend on holiday with my Daddy to the Lake District. After getting stuck in a long traffic jam, we eventually got to Blackpool where we went to the pleasure beach, saw the illuminations and I had a ride on a tram!

The following day we went to Lake Windermere via a car ferry pulled by wires across the lake. We then went on a boat trip all around the lake.

On the last day we went to the Haverthwaite Steam Railway near Lake Windermere, where we had a trip on a steam train. Continue reading
